What’s your story?
It's me and my 8 year old son, Kristopher. I'm a coordinator for inpatient pediatrics. What Kris and I love most is our animals! We have 7!! 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 bird, and 2 hermit crabs.
How long have you been training with us?
Why did you start?
The COVID 15 weight gain was hitting me hard. Even my fat clothes were getting tight. My body had that raw egg in a baggie feeling. I felt so gross and unmotivated to do anything on my own. I'd driven past the gym plenty of times when they were in Olmsted Falls and finally decided to stop in.
What was the biggest thing that scared you about this type of training? How did you overcome that?
Not being able to do the workout and not being as good as everyone else. Everyone at the gym helped me overcome that. The little sayings written on the "window of motivation" saying not to compare yourself... the Facebook posts of weekly gold stars... the support from every single member... It's so helpful that there's always an alternate exercise and no one makes you feel bad for not lifting the prescribed weight or doing a scaled movement. Everyone has their limits and no one expects you to do more than you can or even want to. Each person here is super supportive and no one is mean or intimidating.
What has been your proudest achievement so far?
The weight loss. I'm down 22lbs so far!
What result did you gain from training here that you did not expect?
Friendships. I used to go to OrangeTheory and it was a get in and get out situation. No talking and no eye contact. The coaches seemed very mechanical. Here everyone talks and is so friendly. Becoming a member during the pandemic was so nice. You really need people and positive relationships. This really was a mood booster at a time when I needed it the most!
You have been having great success with your nutrition. Would you like to share with us how you have been able to be so successful?
Sticking with the nutrition plan with Shanna's help. It's challenging but I've never felt better about myself. I've been this weight before but not while working out too. Seeing the results on the scale and NOT having to count calories is the best!! I'm down 22 lbs :) YAY!

Why do you keep coming back?
It never gets old. The workouts are always challenging. The people are always supportive and kind. It's a great place to forget your stresses.
