Did you really push it or did you make it look like you did?
The funny thing about effort is that you are the only one that can truly know what level of effort you gave. Sometimes we give in to the pain, we allow ourselves to break. It’s in those moments that we allow self doubt to creep in. We question our intentions and often ask ourselves “why am I doing this to myself ?” Every fiber in your body will beckon you slow down, to rest, and worst of all QUIT.
But what if…
you smiled instead of frowned?
you pushed harder instead of slowing down?
you told yourself you could instead of submitting?
You stood tall instead of hunched over?
You pushed on with more conviction than ever before?
Is it going to be easy? Probably not but I can guarantee the pain will pass. The hardest thing you’ll have to do is answer your own question “Why are you doing this to yourself?”
You can answer back in two ways:
- From a place of defeat and self pity
- From a place of strength and perseverance.
Whatever your answer is it’s yours, own it. You have always been the answer, you will always be the answer. What you tolerate is what you allow to exist.
